So, after going through the whole mess with Streetfire and reduction of quality and all that, I figured this video would look better streamed directly from DriftPosse.com, so that anybody who’s as picky as I am can see the vid in it’s clearest state…or at least, the clearest that you can get it over the internet. OH, and in case you didn’t see the credits at Streetfire, I’ll put ‘em here too. The edits are by me, Dan Cyr. The music is In Space by Royksopp. And the drivers, of course, are the Drift Posse. Anyway, here it is:
Offseason Obliteration!
I think the clearer picture and sound definitely do this video a bit more justice. As much as I love having the hit counter with Streetfire, nothing beats good quality. Watch away, and enjoy!
With the new season having arrived, I decided at the very last minute that it might be a good idea to work on a bit more branding for the Drift Posse, which of course begins with a true logo. Our current logo is definitely good (tip o’ the hat to Mike Martino on a job well done), but lacks the graphical nature that an actual logo is supposed to have. Anyway, an idea popped into my head for a logo, and I was able to put it into Photoshop so that everybody else could take a look. I’m pretty excited about it, because we’ve been trying to develop the logo idea in the past, but had difficulty coming up with something that resembled a true logo, as opposed to just words, or just skulls. So, here it is! These are the first two edits of the new logo:
[singlepic id=34 w=320 h=240 float=right]
…it is still a work in progress, and can’t be 100% called the new logo just yet, but this is the general idea and I think we’re sticking with it. I’m still new to the logo/graphic game, and this seems like it may be a step in the right direction, but not the finalized new logo yet, so suggestions/critics are more than welcome. Comment here, or send me e-mails if you have anything to say about it, good or bad. In the meantime I’ll continue to work on it, and maybe I’ll eventually get a professional graphic artist to do something proper.
Speaking of proper, it wouldn’t be proper for me to make another post here without including one of my videos, so I’ll be sure to do so right now. And as a matter of fact, I’ll make it a new one! I finally finished Offseason Obliteration Volume 2, although I screwed up somewhere in the encoding process and made it a funny resolution and bitrate, so I’ll need to re-upload it eventually…that said, I really just wanted to finally get this video out and in the open, so here it is:
Enjoy! …and keep your eyes peeled for the hi-res version if this low-res version bugs you like it bugs me.
I forgot to post on here that our first official event was going to be the ClubLoose Opening Weekend at Englishtown in New Jersey…well, it happened, and now we’re back!! Unfortunately for those of you wanting any good media stuff right this second, I didn’t get much in the way of still pictures…the still camera didn’t really make it out of the case until very late on the second day out. There are, however, at least a few pictures worth mentioning:
“So THAT’S where they all come from!”
On the road near Englishtown, liquor is sold at “dicount” prices.
Brand new Pizza Hut sponsored turbo mod. All the sickest JDM rides are rocking the pizza box nowadays. Ssssnap!
Drift Posse: Doing our part to keep the track clean.
Overall the weekend seemed to be a success…we didn’t get into any fistfights or wrestling matches with the Americans. That said, the Posse was a little less rowdy than usual off the track, which was of course by far made up for on the track (Of course, the occasional air horn blast was something I could not refuse). I think I speak for all the boys when I say that we had crazy fun this weekend. There’s a lot more that I feel like I could say about the weekend, but I think it’ll be best demonstrated in video format, since I’m not really much of a writer, so stay tuned…
That’s right, folks! This means that the last page to say ‘Under Construction’ at the top no longer says ‘Under Construction’, which also means that the Drift Posse site is fully operational and ready to be spread like a horrid genetal disease to each and every corner of the internet, causing panic and confusion. Looting and pillaging may occur, so keep your empty pillowcases at the ready for the good stuff.
Anyway, there’s still plenty of work to do, and hopefully with time I’ll be able to get some of the other Posse members to start throwing updates on here to give a more in depth look at the preparations for this year. Until then, work continues on the latest video, as well as some other media projects to keep me busy, so keep checking back to see if it goes up soon!
